Bhavan's Jaipur Kendra
Brief History
Bhavan’s Jaipur Kendra was established in November 1978.
Several well known people were associated with its establishment. Amongst them were Justice P.N. Bhagwati, then a judge at the Supreme court, His excellency Shri Jaisukh Lal Hathi the then Governor of Punjab & Haryana & Justice Ved Prakash Tyagi the then Vice Chancellor University of Rajasthan.
The first executive committee of the Jaipur Kendra had the patronage of the then Governor of Rajasthan H.E. Shri Raghukul Tilak and the then Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat who later rose to the post of Vice-President of India.
Bhavan’s College of Communication and Management, Jaipur which was affiliated with Bhavan’s Rajendra Prasad Institute of Management and Communication, Mumbai was the first institute of Jaipur Kendra to come into existence in August 1979.
One year Diploma courses in Sales & Marketing, Public relations Industrial Relations & Personal Management became very popular and were recognised by the Central Government of India. Dr. Indu Shekhar a well known Indologist was the founder Principal of the college.
The first Executive body of Bhavans Jaipur Kendra comprised of Pandit Devi Shankar Tiwari as its Founder Chairman and Professor R.P. Bhatnagar as the Founder Director.
In the year 1984, 17 acres of land was allotted to Bhavans Jaipur Kendra by the Government of Rajasthan.
This was made possible due to the efforts of our Founder Chairman Shri Devi Shankar Tiwari who was a highly influential politician and the first Education & Health minister of Rajasthan.
The Foundation stone of Bhavans Jaipur Kendra was laid by Swami Ranganatha Nand Ji of Ramakrishna Math Hyderabad on 7th December 1984. The school building was partially ready in 1985 and the first session of the school started on 29th July 1985 with Shri B.G. Pitre as its Founder Principal.
The evening college moved to the Jaipur Kendra Campus in 1990 when Justice B.P. Beri took over as the Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Jaipur Kendra.
In 2007 Bhavan’s Day College affiliated with the University of Rajasthan was set up under the Chairmanship of Shri V.C Surana. This college conducted graduation courses in BBA,BCA & BCOM. Dr Satish Batra was the Founder Principal of this college.
About the Campus
The sprawling 17 acre campus of Bhavan’s Jaipur Kendra occupies a prime location on JAWAHAR LAL NEHRU MARG in Bajaj Nagar. Over the last 40 years it has undergone tremendous development and improvement.
The campus houses Bhavan’s Vidyashram a 10+2 Co-Educational day school with a strength of nearly 3500 students from Pre-primary to class 12. It has lush green sports ground for Hockey, Football and Cricket besides a huge indoor Sports Complex which has modern facilities for Badminton, Squash and Skating. There are synthetic courts for Tennis and Basketball.
The campus boasts of one of the most sought after Swimming Pool of the city which is of international standard and maintains high degree of hygiene and safety.
Bhavan’s Jaipur Kendra has a Cultural Centre called SURUCHI KENDRA which conducts classes in Classical Dance, Vocal Classical Music, Art, Instrumental Music besides conducting workshops from time to time. It also has a MINI HALL an Air-Conditioned Hall with a capacity of 100 people for conducting various cultural & Educational programs.
Gandhi Institute of Computer Education provides free computer education to the needy.
Maharana Pratap Auditorium with a capacity of nearly 800 seats is a landmark structure and a very popular place for Cultural and Educational Programs of the city.
The Bhavans Book University Publications are available at PUSTAK BHARATI located inside the Auditorium.
The campus is blessed to have a temple of Maa Saraswati, the Goddess of Learning.
The beautifully sculptured campus is the envy of many. The gardens are very well manicured and maintained.
